Hello,
What does "taleae pedem longae, ferreis hamis infixis, totae in terram infodiebantur" mean?
Here's what I was able to make out:
The long sticks, by means of the iron hooks fastened in, were all being buried in the earth.
The only problem with this translation is I don't know how on earth "pedem", which is the accusative form of "pēs" (foot), is supposed to fit in. By definition a passive verb cannot take a direct object.
